Dispensary Near Journal Square & The Heights: Delivery or a PATH Trip Downtown?

Journal Square and The Heights are across Jersey City from our store. Here is how to decide between a PATH trip to Downtown and same-day delivery, what each costs, and which discounts apply.

Jersey City is bigger than most people expect. Journal Square sits west of Downtown and has its own transportation hub, and The Heights climbs the Palisades above Hoboken with its own streets and bus routes. If you live in either, the question isn’t whether a dispensary is “near” — it’s whether the trip to CREAM in Downtown is worth making, or whether delivery is the better move. This guide helps you decide. It’s written for adults 21+.

The Short Answer

  • Want to browse or talk to a budtender? Take a PATH ride to Grove Street and walk about 5 minutes.
  • Know what you want? Order ahead for pickup, or order delivery and skip the trip.
  • Ordering at night or in bad weather? Delivery is usually the easier call.

Where CREAM Is

CREAM is at 284 1st Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302, in the Powerhouse Arts District between Manila Avenue and Brunswick Street. Hours are Monday–Thursday 9 AM–10 PM and Friday–Sunday 9 AM–11 PM. For every way to reach the store, see our guide to getting to CREAM.

From Journal Square

Journal Square is home to the Journal Square Transportation Center, which makes it one of the best-connected spots in the city. On the PATH Newark–World Trade Center line, Grove Street is the next stop after Journal Square, so the ride is short. Then it’s about a 5-minute walk west on Newark Avenue and up Brunswick to 1st Street.

PATH routing changes on some weekends and during construction, and different lines serve Journal Square, so check the current schedule on the PATH website or app before you leave. Don’t rely on a train pattern you remember from last month.

Journal Square Delivery

Journal Square is in Jersey City, which is part of our Hudson County core delivery area. Estimates there run roughly 30–70 minutes. Check your address on the delivery page, and see our delivery guide for how ordering works.

From The Heights

The Heights sits on the Palisades above Hoboken, and getting down to Downtown generally means a bus or a drive, then PATH or another connection. Because routes and schedules change, plan the trip with a live map app rather than a fixed route.

For many people in The Heights, delivery is simply the easier answer. It saves you the transit, the parking and the hill.

Heights Delivery

The Heights is also in Jersey City and inside our delivery zone. Add your unit number and any entry instructions at checkout so the driver can find you.

Pickup or Delivery? A Quick Comparison

  • Cost: Delivery is free over $70 and $5 under it, with no minimum order. Pickup is free.
  • Time: Pickup is ready in minutes once you arrive, but the trip takes time. Delivery arrives at your door, typically within an estimated window.
  • Choice: In-store, a budtender can answer questions in person. Online, you can read product pages at your own pace.
  • Discounts: Some discounts apply in-store only. See below.

Discounts Worth Knowing

The 15% local discount is for residents of the 07302 zip code and applies in-store only. Journal Square and The Heights typically use other zip codes, so don’t assume it applies to you — check your address. Other savings, like the veteran discount, the medical patient discount and CREAM Rewards, are open to everyone who qualifies. Discounts don’t stack; the single largest applies. Our discount guide has the details, and the deals page lists what’s running now.

When the Trip Is Worth It

  • It’s your first visit, and you’d like to see how it all works. Our first-visit guide walks you through it.
  • You want to talk through products with a budtender.
  • You’re already heading Downtown for dinner or errands.

When Delivery Wins

  • It’s late and you don’t want to go back out. See our late-night guide.
  • The weather is bad, or you’d rather not deal with transit.
  • You already know what you want from the menu.

Tips for Apartment and Multi-Family Delivery

  • Include your unit number and buzzer instructions at checkout.
  • Have your valid ID ready. The driver checks it, and someone 21+ must receive the order.
  • Make sure the phone number on the order is one you’ll answer.
  • Know your building or lease rules about cannabis use.

Using Cannabis Responsibly

Public consumption is prohibited in New Jersey, so plan to use your purchase at home. Never drive after using cannabis, and keep it stored out of reach of children and pets.

A Sample Evening From Journal Square

  1. Check the menu at home. Build a cart on the menu and choose order-ahead pickup.
  2. Check PATH. Look at the live schedule before you leave, since service patterns can change.
  3. Ride to Grove Street and walk about 5 minutes to 284 1st Street.
  4. Show your ID and pick up. A typical first visit takes 10–15 minutes.
  5. Head home with your purchase sealed.

The store is open until 10 PM Monday to Thursday and 11 PM Friday to Sunday, so there is room for an evening trip. PATH on the Newark–World Trade Center line runs around the clock, though check the schedule for your hour.

A Sample Evening From The Heights

  1. Skip the commute. Place a delivery order from your phone.
  2. Confirm your address with the zone scanner on the delivery page.
  3. Add entry notes such as unit number and buzzer.
  4. Watch for the driver. Delivery runs until 9:30 PM Monday to Thursday and 10:30 PM Friday to Sunday.
  5. Show your ID and sign for the order.

How Delivery Is Priced

There is no minimum order. Delivery is free over $70 and $5 under it. Payment options include Pay By Bank. Delivery isn’t available to federal buildings or college campuses, so if you live in or near one, check with the store. Because delivery is limited to those 21 and older, someone with valid ID has to be there to receive the order.

Which Should You Pick?

  • Pick PATH and pickup if you’d like a look around, you want to ask questions, or you’re making the trip downtown anyway.
  • Pick delivery if it’s late, the weather is bad, or you’re buying something you already know.
  • Pick either if you’re an occasional customer. Many people mix both depending on the week.

Planning Around the Weekend

Weekends are usually busier, and PATH service can be different on weekends, so check the schedule if you’re travelling Saturday or Sunday. Ordering ahead helps on busy days, and so does ordering earlier in the day. If you’re planning a weekend, our late-night guide explains how to time your order.
