How to Get to CREAM: PATH, Light Rail, Citi Bike & Parking in Downtown Jersey City

CREAM is at 284 1st Street in the Powerhouse Arts District. Here is every way to get here: PATH from Grove Street, light rail, Citi Bike, driving and street parking, plus accessibility, what to bring and how to skip the trip with delivery.

Downtown Jersey City is one of the easiest places in the region to reach without a car — and, if you do drive, one of the places where it helps to know the parking rules before you arrive. CREAM is at 284 1st Street, in the Powerhouse Arts District, between Manila Avenue and Brunswick Street. This guide covers every way to get here: PATH, light rail, bike, car and rideshare, plus what to bring and how to plan your trip. Everything here is for adults 21+.

By PATH: The Simplest Option

The closest PATH station is Grove Street. From there it’s about a 5-minute walk west on Newark Avenue and then up Brunswick to 1st Street.

A few things that make PATH a good choice:

  • It runs around the clock. The Newark–World Trade Center line, which stops at Grove Street, operates 24 hours a day.
  • It connects you to the rest of the area. On the Newark–World Trade Center line, Grove Street is the stop right after Journal Square, and Exchange Place is the next stop toward Lower Manhattan.
  • No parking needed. Especially useful on busy evenings.

PATH service patterns can change, particularly on weekends and during construction, so check the current schedule on the PATH website or app before you leave.

By Light Rail

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail serves the area, and the closest stops to the store are Marin Boulevard and Newport. It’s a good option if you’re coming from Bayonne or from along the waterfront. From either stop, it’s a short walk to 1st Street — use a map app for the walking route from your stop.

By Bike or Citi Bike

There’s a Citi Bike station at Newark Avenue and Marin Boulevard, about three blocks from the store. That makes it easy to arrive by bike share from anywhere in the Citi Bike network. If you bring your own bike, lock it up securely and don’t leave your purchase in a bag on the bike.

By Car: Parking in Downtown Jersey City

There’s street parking on 1st Street and the surrounding blocks. The basics:

  • Meters run until 8 PM.
  • Street parking is free after 8 PM and on Sundays.
  • Check the posted signs on your block for time limits, street cleaning and permit rules, and on holidays.

Because the store is open until 10 PM on weeknights and 11 PM on weekends, an evening visit usually means no meter at all. If you’re visiting during the day, plan for a short meter session and keep an eye on the clock. Street spots in a busy downtown can take a few minutes to find, so give yourself some buffer.

Driving Times From Nearby Towns

These come from our town pages and are outside rush hour. Real times depend on traffic.

  • Bayonne: about 15 minutes via Kennedy Boulevard or Route 440
  • Secaucus: about 8–10 minutes via the NJ Turnpike or Paterson Plank Road
  • Kearny: about 10 minutes via the Belleville Turnpike
  • North Bergen: about 10–12 minutes via Tonnelle Avenue or JFK Boulevard

If you’d rather skip the drive entirely, see our delivery guide for those four towns.

By Rideshare or Taxi

Give your driver the address — 284 1st Street, Jersey City — and ask them to drop you on 1st Street. Rideshare is a good choice for a night out, since you shouldn’t drive after using cannabis, and it takes parking off your mind.

Coming From New York City

Take PATH to Jersey City and get off at Grove Street. The Newark–World Trade Center line runs from the World Trade Center through Exchange Place to Grove Street, and other PATH lines connect from Midtown. Check the PATH schedule for the right train at your time of day. Remember that cannabis rules differ between states, so a purchase made in New Jersey should be consumed in New Jersey and kept sealed until you’re home.

Accessibility

The building is wheelchair accessible. If you have specific questions about access, call (848) 500-9333 before you visit.

What to Bring

  • A valid government-issued photo ID showing you’re 21 or older. Expired IDs aren’t accepted.
  • A payment method. To confirm accepted options, call ahead.
  • Your order confirmation, if you ordered ahead for pickup.

Ways to Save Time on Your Trip

  1. Order ahead. Choose online and pick up in minutes. See the menu.
  2. Check the deals page before you leave: cream.online/specials.
  3. Plan your route using a live map or the PATH app.
  4. Avoid the last minutes before closing. Arrive earlier if you can. Our late-night guide covers timing.

Or Skip the Trip

If getting here doesn’t suit you, CREAM delivers same-day or scheduled across 22 North Jersey cities. There’s no minimum order. Delivery is free over $70 and $5 under it. Check your address on the delivery page, or read our guide to how weed delivery works.

After Your Visit

Keep your purchase sealed until you’re home. New Jersey law prohibits consuming cannabis in public places, including right outside the store, and you should never open it in a car or use it before driving. Store everything out of reach of children and pets.
